General Assembly moves to raise cap on liability for damages

RALEIGH - State lawmakers are preparing a bill to make sure the state is ready in case oil from the BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico makes its way to North Carolina waters. The bill would lift a $75 million cap on damages and direct state agencies to review their response plans.
