RALEIGH — On Tuesday, the chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party called on Gov. Beverly Perdue to clean house at the state Board of Elections.
Tom Fetzer reacted to news of a friend of the board’s executive director being fired. According The News & Observer Ralph Gable was fired after several women complained of inappropriate behavior in the office. Fetzer called Gable a "serial sex harraser."
The personnel issue brought the spotlight back to a campaign finance complaint the GOP brought against Gov. Perdue. The party questioned some flights during Perdue’s campaign.
Fetzer said Bartlett and elections board chairman Larry Leake are interfering with the board’s investigation and should be removed from the board of elections.
