Hall stepping down as Democratic leader in N.C. House

Rep. Larry Hall, D-Durham, who has served as minority leader in the state House for the past two full legislative sessions, will not seek that position when the 2017 session convenes, the News & Observer reports.

Hall, who served for 19 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, will begin his fifth full term next year in the General Assembly.

Among those likely to seek the minority leader’s spot is Rep. Ed Hanes, D-Forsyth, who in August announced plans to pursue the job.
