VinFast changes gears again over size of assembly building
In what might be called a case of whiplash, Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has once again changed plans for its $4 billion electric vehicle factory in Moncure, Chatham County.
FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, a division of Japanese parent company Fujifilm Corp, plans to expand its job force at its Holly Springs location with an additional 680 jobs and a $1.2 billion investment as part of a $15 million Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) awarded by the North Carolina Department of Commerce’s Economic Investment Committee (NCEIC).
"It's been a great story, it's been a great run, a lot of success," said Gregg Zarnstorff, director of Trademarks and Brand Protection at NC State University. "You know what happens with success is everybody wants to try to profit from it. Sometimes legally and sometimes not."
