John Locke Foundation scholars and Carolina Journal editors will provide immediate commentary tonight on both the State of the State Address by Gov. Bev Perdue and the GOP response from Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger and House Speaker Thom Tillis.
The responses and reactions will be posted on JLF’s statewide blog The Locker Room and updated throughout the evening. The site will include links to JLF research and CJ reports that are relevant to the formal remarks. Visitors to the site also can offer comments and feedback, and will be encouraged to ask questions and respond to instant polls posted on the blog.
Participants will include JLF Director of Fiscal and Health Policy Studies Joe Coletti, Director of Education Studies Terry Stoops, and Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray; and Carolina Journal Publisher Jon Ham and Managing Editor Rick Henderson.
Perdue is scheduled to deliver the address at 7 p.m. tonight. The GOP response will begin immediately after the governor’s speech.
