By a 33-16 vote, Tuesday evening the state Senate approved the $22.34 billion General Fund budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year. A final vote is scheduled Wednesday.

The House may take up the spending measure as early as tomorrow. While House Speaker Tim Moore, R-Cleveland, said Monday he expected the House to remain in session through part of next week, Tuesday on the House floor Moore said it’s possible the short session could adjourn on Saturday.
