The North Carolina Supreme Court has amended its order blocking certification of the recent election to the state’s highest court. The amended order shows that the vote to grant Republican candidate Jefferson Griffin a temporary stay was 4-2, not 5-1. Republican Justice Richard Dietz joined Democratic Justice Anita Earls in dissent.

Tillis announces $1.65 billion in grants on the way to WNC communities devastated by Helene

Some much needed relief is on the way for those devastated in western North Carolina by Hurricane Helene in late September. North Carolina Republican US Sen. Thom Tillis announced Tuesday that $1.65 billion in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds have been secured to help rebuild communities devastated by the hurricane.

Griffin asks Appeals Court to order decision on election protests by Tuesday

Republican North Carolina Supreme Court candidate Jefferson Griffin is turning to North Carolina’s second-highest court for an order that would force state election officials to make a final decision about Griffin’s election protests Tuesday. The State Board of Elections had planned to hear oral arguments about the protests the following day, according to a document Griffin filed Friday with the state Court of Appeals.
