It always rankles the liberal media when you make the assertion that they act as prosecutors when interviewing conservatives and Republicans and as defense counsels when they interview liberals and Democrats.

Watch the two embedded interviews below to see how far the mainstream media has gone from feigned objectivity of a few years go to outright advocacy for Democratic positions and repetition of White House spin.

First is CNN’s Candy Crowley inteviewing Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the majority whip in the House, about the debt ceiling talks. My favorite moment is when Crowley freely admits that no matter what happens in issues like this, the Republicans will get blamed by the media. She didn’t even put up a fight:

Next is The Today Show’s Matt Lauer of NBC interrogating, er, interviewing, radio talk-show host Laura Ingraham. Lauer makes no pretense at being objective. It’s clear he thinks that it is Republicans who must compromise, that they are the “bad guys” and that Obama is the reasonable one. He gets visibly angry when Ingraham shows no inclination to put up with his nonsense:
