Election integrity is under attack. Not by those enforcing the law, but by those trying to rewrite it. Judge Jefferson Griffin, the Republican candidate for North Carolina Supreme Court, has faced criticism from Democrats and their allies in the legacy media for his effort to uphold state election laws. He is challenging over 60,000 improperly cast votes, arguing that every legal vote should count and that improperly cast votes should not. That should not be controversial, but in today’s climate, enforcing election laws is now considered radical.
This isn’t about just one election. This is about whether we let unelected bureaucrats manipulate voting laws while failing to enforce state law. Griffin is being falsely portrayed as a threat to democracy, when in reality he is acting to enforce the very laws he took an oath to protect. The real scandal is not with Griffin: it’s with the failures of the North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBE), who have allowed improperly cast ballots, ignored state election laws, and completely undermined the public’s trust in upholding election integrity. Judge Griffin isn’t undermining democracy, he’s defending it.
The NCSBE has one job during election cycles: to ensure fair elections and faithfully follow our state’s laws. In the 2024 general election cycle, they allowed ballots from felons and deceased individuals to be counted, failed to enforce voter ID laws, and ignored federal and state voter registration requirements. Their flawed system permitted ballots to be cast without proper identification, enabling 225,000 individuals to register without providing a Social Security number or driver’s license. Griffin’s critics cannot change the law, so instead they viciously attack him personally for seeking accountability.
Rather than admitting to their mistakes, the NCSBE chose to ignore state law. Judge Griffin stepped in to challenge these failures, filing a formal protest against the improper ballots and demanding that the NCSBE be held accountable. As a judge currently serving on the North Carolina Court of Appeals, he has a duty to uphold the law and hold elections officials accountable for ignoring it.
Instead of praising Griffin for his courage to stand up for election integrity, the left-wing media and Democrat operatives are twisting the narrative for their own political gain. Partisan groups claim that Griffin’s protests are an attempt to disenfranchise voters. In reality, he is fighting to ensure that every legal vote is counted. This is a far cry from voter suppression. In fact, Griffin is doing the opposite: defending election integrity so that legally cast ballots are not diluted by improperly cast ones. The real issue is partisan groups determined to vilify Griffin for demanding transparency. Their efforts aren’t about fairness, they’re about political power. Democrats want to bypass the legal process, avoid accountability, and ensure their preferred candidate wins.
If enforcing election laws is now considered an extremist threat to democracy, then the real danger isn’t the law, but the people trying to rewrite it to fit their agenda. Judge Griffin refuses to bend to political pressure. Instead, he remains committed to his duty of ensuring North Carolina’s elections board follows the law. Regardless of political beliefs, every citizen should want free, fair, transparent, and legal elections. North Carolinians deserve the assurance that their legal votes count, and that improper votes do not. This shouldn’t be a divisive issue; it’s just common sense.
The real threat to democracy isn’t Griffin. It’s an election system run by unelected bureaucrats who believe they can pick and choose which laws to follow. North Carolinians must decide: Do we want elections governed by law or by those who think they’re above it?
