Suspect free after admitting he mowed down ‘Republican’ teen over politics
An 18-year-old gets into a verbal confrontation over politics in North Dakota and then he is killed for being a Republican. From the New York Post:
The North Dakota man who allegedly admitted to fatally striking a teenage pedestrian with his car because the pair had “a political argument” was released from jail on Tuesday after posting $50,000 bond, records show.
The defense over his alleged violent action so far seems to be that the young man was part of some kind of “Republican extremist group” and he was afraid for his safety. By the way, the perpetrator fled the scene and the evidence doesn’t seem to be supporting his claims. The young man even called his mom for help because he was scared before being run over. Looks like a hate crime but we’ll see. Unfortunately, a lot of crime enforcement today depends more and more on the politics of the district attorney’s office.
