Alexander Hamilton was born on the Caribbean island of Nevis in 1755, but spent his career serving the United State of America. Considered among the Founding Fathers, Hamilton founded the first political party, the Federalists; was the nation’s first treasurer; and was a key figure in the securing the ratification of the US Constitution, authoring many of the Federalist Papers.
