Jeff Garcia is a sophomore at Macalester College from Spring Valley, New York. A graduate of Saint Joseph Regional High School of Montvale, New Jersey’s class of 2010, he plans to major in history and minor in studio art. Jeff is a National Hispanic Scholar, and chose Macalester because it gave him the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a small college in a city, and to attend a school that gave top support to middle-class students of color. Jeff was active in high school life, and now serves as an officer in several campus organizations, including MacGOP. He is a member of the Conduct Board and the Student Affairs Advisory Committee, the founder of No Labels at Macalester, and campus organizer for Americans Elect. This is his first article.
