Anthony Esolen is a professor of English at Providence College, where he teaches courses in Medieval and Renaissance literature and the development of Western civilization. Among his thirteen books are a three-volume translation and edition of Dante’s Divine Comedy (Random House); The Politically Incorrect Guide to Western Civilization (Regnery); Ironies of Faith: The Laughter at the Heart of Christian Literature (ISI Press); and Ten Ways to Destroy the Imagination of Your Child (ISI Press). He also writes regularly for Touchstone, Crisis, The Catholic Thing, Front Porch Republic, and Catholic World Report. He and his wife, Debra, and their two children worship at Sacred Heart Church, West Warwick, Rhode Island.
