‘Fair elections’ lawsuit hearing delayed until June
A three-judge panel overseeing former state Supreme Court Justice Bob Orr’s “fair elections” lawsuit has delayed a hearing in the case until June 13. The delay stems at least in part from the recent death of longtime Republican redistricting lawyer Thomas Farr.

Two plaintiffs suing the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte are defending a key portion of the SAFE Child Act at the state Supreme Court. The 2019 act opened up a two-year window for alleged victims of child sexual abuse to file lawsuits that were otherwise barred by the statute of limitations.
