Medicaid Expansion to begin in NC on Dec 1

Gov Roy Cooper and NCDHHS Secretary Kody Kinsley announced Monday that Medicaid expansion will begin on Dec. 1. This will add hundreds of thousands of working-age, able-bodied adults to the state's Medicaid program, making it the largest single expansion of an entitlement program in state history.

The 2023 North Carolina state budget: Here’s what you need to know

Focusing on tax cuts and development projects in the more than $30 billion budget, Tuesday evening the leaders announced that the Senate will vote on the conference report at 2:00 PM Thursday with final votes at 9:30 AM Friday. The House is planning to hold budget votes on the floor on Wednesday and Thursday. Their agreement does not contain legalization for casinos or video lottery terminals.

Over half of VinFast’s vehicles have been sold to itself

VinFast, the electric vehicle maker with plans to open a $4 billion manufacturing plant in Chatham County in 2025, has sold 11,300 vehicles during the first half of 2023. While that would usually be good news, here’s the kicker: more than half, 7,100, were sold to itself.

Robersonville gains financial control back from the state, continuing a positive trend
