Congressman-elect Tim Moore assigned to House Financial Services Committee

The House Financial Services Committee holds jurisdiction over policies related to the economy, banking systems, housing, insurance, and securities and exchanges. The Committee also has jurisdiction over matters related to monetary policy, international finance, international monetary organizations, and efforts to combat terrorist financing.

Counting the votes: Universal school choice in NC comes down to this week

The North Carolina General Assembly is scheduled to gavel in this week to vote on clearing the 55,000 family waitlist for Opportunity Scholarships. The OSP program provides state money to families for a private school. Language in the state legislature's budget last year opened the program to all North Carolina families on a sliding scale with the lowest incomes served first.

Former President Donald Trump holds campaign rally in Charlotte

High energy and crowds filled the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte Wednesday as Trump took the stage.
