Former student’s lawsuit over UNC expulsion scheduled for May trial
An expelled University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student will be able to take his case against the university and campus officials to a federal jury trial in May.
The UNC System Board of Governors lifted its nearly decade-long tuition freeze and raised the cost of attendance for most state universities.

A court hearing is scheduled Wednesday afternoon in former Provost Chris Clemens’ open meetings and public records lawsuit against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The hearing in Hillsborough will address Clemens’ motion this week for “expedited discovery, preservation order, forensic imaging, and in camera review” in the case.
