State of Emergency ahead of Tropical Storm Debby

On Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service issued a new briefing on what North Carolina can expect from Tropical Storm Debby, saying that expected rainfall totals have increased, and a Flood Watch has expanded to now include all of central NC. On Monday, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper issued a State of Emergency ahead of impact.

Price, Miller Criticize President

RALEIGH — As national Democratic Party leaders such as Howard Dean and New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton heaped criticism on President Bush's administration over the federal response to Hurricane Katrina, only a couple of North Carolina's congressmen outwardly joined in.
