After much debate at their meeting on Thursday, the NCSBE voted 3-2 along party lines to recognize the Green Party as a political party in the state.
North Carolina taxpayers could end up paying more than $77,000 in lawyers’ fees because of the State Board of Elections’ attempt to block the Justice for All Party from the state’s election ballot. The party and its presidential candidate, Cornel West, appear on general election ballots this fall.
At its meeting Tuesday, the North Carolina State Election Board voted unanimously to recognize the Justice for All Party. Last week, US District Judge Terrence Boyle ordered NCSBE to certify the party and to add its candidates to the state’s November ballot.

The North Carolina State Election Board “kicked the can down the road” at their board meeting Tuesday on allowing the Justice For All Party and We The People Party to appear on the ballot in November’s general election while greenlighting the Constitution Party.
