On Tuesday, both chambers of the North Carolina state legislature voted to override Governor Roy Cooper’s veto of Senate Bill 20, “Care for Women, Children, and Families Act,” which restricts elective abortions after 12 weeks of fetal development.
Roy Cooper is targeting four Republican lawmakers in a video put out last week to increase political pressure on them for the upcoming abortion vote. Additionally, Cooper scheduled visits to their districts. Surprisingly, Cooper has not contacted any of the four lawmakers to discuss the bill.
Gov. Roy Cooper intends to veto significant abortion legislation this Saturday. But leading up to that, he is embarking on a tour aimed at pressuring lawmakers to reconsider their stance on abortion, or at least the current bill.
