Hofmann Forest: 79,000 Acres of Conflict
RALEIGH — On Nov. 22, a Wake County Superior Court judge ruled that the sale of Hofmann Forest could proceed without an environmental impact statement, which a group of ecologists, conservationists, students, professors, and alumni had insisted on. While an appeal is possible, it looks as though the issue is over for N.C. State, which claims it could receive as much as $6 million per year from the proceeds.
