Stein visits flooded Alamance and Orange counties, urges continued caution

Governor Josh Stein traveled to Alamance and Orange counties on Tuesday to assess damage from Tropical Storm Chantal. The visit included a stop at Lake Michael Dam, where water levels on Sunday threatened to breach a spillway under construction.

Biden briefed on Helene recovery in Raleigh after aerial tour of WNC damage

President Joe Biden and Governor Roy Cooper toured damage in western North Carolina from Hurricane Helene on Wednesday.  The latest death toll stands at 184, making Helene the deadliest hurricane to hit the U.S. mainland since Katrina in 2005.
