Jackson defends authority to pursue lawsuit against DuPont, Chemours

The companies have asked the high court to rule that Jackson lacks authority to wage the legal battle.

NC House committee supports bill holding PFAS manufacturers liable for cleanup

The North Carolina House Environment Committee voted in support of House Bill 864 (PFAS Pollution and Polluter Liability), which would mandate PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) manufacturers to cover cleanup costs for public water systems across the state.

Federal Appeals Court rejects lawsuit against EPA over PFAS testing

The 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals has rejected four environmental groups’ lawsuit against the US Environmental Protection Agency over PFAS testing. The groups had argued that the federal agency had effectively denied a petition to test certain chemicals at a Chemours plant south of Fayetteville. The split 2-1 ruling Monday affirms a decision from US District Judge Richard Myers favoring the EPA.
