Supreme Court Makes It Tougher To Claim Deception in Business Dealings
RALEIGH — In an August ruling, by a 5-2 vote the state’s highest court made it more difficult for consumers to prove claims that they had been victimized by companies using unfair or improper business practices. The ruling stated that plaintiffs must show that they considered the information in false statements to be factual when they decided to complete a commercial transaction.
