NC primary sees strong turnout, early voting surge

North Carolina’s primary election is off to a smooth start, with strong turnout reported statewide, according to State Board of Elections Executive Director Sam Hayes. During a Tuesday morning press conference, Hayes said tens of thousands of voters had already cast ballots during the early voting period, signaling solid participation ahead of Election Day.

NCSBE to upgrade software, cautions elections officials on social media use

NC elections director seeks full SSN data from DMV

The executive director of North Carolina’s State Board of Elections is asking the head of the Division of Motor Vehicles for Social Security numbers of DMV customers who are also registered voters. The request is designed to help state elections officials “maintain the most accurate voter rolls possible.”
