VIDEO: Pollster Conway Urges Conservatives to Focus on Who Can Lead

RALEIGH — Conservatives and Republicans should avoid spending too much time asking who can win the White House in 2016. Instead they should identify the candidate who can lead once he’s in office. That was one piece of advice nationally recognized pollster Kellyanne Conway offered Tuesday during a John Locke Foundation Headliner speech in Raleigh.

SAXAPAHAW — The N.C. Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association's Executive Director Tim Kent says the federal CARE Act would not limit a small winery's access to markets. Benjamin Vineyards owner Andy Zeeman says the opposite. He describes the bill as a first step wholesalers will use to then demand that wine shipments go through them.

VIDEO: Bill Would Protect Athletes With Concussions

RALEIGH — The bill will be named after Matthew Gfeller, who died of a brain injury sustained during a high school football game. He played for R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem. The bill is likely to require athletes showing any sign of a concussion to be pulled from competition until testing shows it's safe for the athlete to return to play.
