Legislators put elections oversight changes in hurricane recovery funding bill

Late on Tuesday evening, the North Carolina House passed Senate Bill 382, which will provide an additional $227 million to the Hurricane Helene Disaster Recovery Fund, but also makes sweeping changes to the State Board of Elections by shifting power from the governor's office to the state auditor.
