Hall introduces bill forcing sheriffs to cooperate with ICE
On Wednesday, Rep. Destin Hall, R-Caldwell, introduced a bill to require N.C. sheriffs to contact U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) if they cannot confirm the citizenship status of someone in their custody accused of serious felonies and violent crimes.
Tillis at southern border this week, calls it a “humanitarian and security crisis”
On Monday and Tuesday this week U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis, R-NC, is at the southern border in El Paso, Texas and Yuma, Arizona. While there, N.C.'s senior senator is meeting with U.S. Border Patrol and Customs agents. It follows a visit from President Joe Biden that local law enforcement called a "photo op."

CBS News cites “congressional officials familiar with the matter” who confirm no vote will take place before the current Congress wraps up work this year.
