N.C. Republican Party chairman Tom Fetzer announces his plan to file a formal elections complaint against Gov. Beverly Perdue and the N.C. Democratic Party in connection with a series of flights Perdue took in connection with the 2008 gubernatorial campaign. Fetzer offered these remarks Oct. 15, 2009. In response, the state Democratic Party issued a statement that includes the following: “The partisan allegations made today by the Republican Party are completely without merit. They are nothing more than the same, tired political games we’ve come to expect from them.”
