Government rules promote food waste, limit food choices, and stop people from using their own property to make their own food.

Harmful rules are detailed in the book Biting the Hands That Feed Us: How Fewer, Smarter Laws Would Make Our Food System More Sustainable. Author Baylen Linnekin, an adjunct professor at George Mason University’s Scalia Law School, shared key themes from the book during a presentation for the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society.

In the video clip above, Linnekin details rules that promote food waste. Click here to access video of the full presentation.
