The group Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina has helped lead the push for expanded school choice in North Carolina. New PEFNC President Mike Long discussed his group’s goals during a presentation Monday for the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society.
NC House bill would boost teacher pay by 22%
If enacted, House Bill 192 would establish a new salary schedule for teachers, increasing starting teacher pay from $41,000 a year to $50,000. For teachers with 25 years or more of experience, the salary boost would be from $55,950 a year to $68,230.
