Two members of the N.C. Supreme Court are leading a new effort to emphasize civic education in North Carolina, especially education that explains the role of the court system in our constitutional system.

Associate Justices Sam Ervin IV and Paul Newby explained their work during a presentation Monday to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip above, Ervin and Newby note both the importance of the judicial branch of government and the general sense that people know little about the way courts work.
