Sylvia Hatchell spent her career as a women’s basketball coach, including at UNC Chapel Hill and USA Women’s Basketball. Her teams won the NCAA tournament, five gold medals in international play, and eight ACC tournament championships. Hatchell was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013.
