    Franklinton town manager in hot water over not following bidding procedure

    The Town of Franklinton’s town manager is in hot water after not following the town’s bidding procedure. State Auditor Beth Wood released a report Thursday, May 19, stating the town manager made $37,900 in purchases without following the formal bidding requirements in violation of the town’s purchasing policy.

    N.C. General Assembly opens short session with short to-do list

    The North Carolina General Assembly convened the 2022 short session Wednesday, May 18 after the longest long session in state history concluded in March. Both the Senate and the House would like the short session to stay short, especially after the marathon timeframe of the long session and for those who will be campaigning for the General Election in November.
