Judge rules against Stein in dispute over hog farm ‘slush fund’ proceeds

A Wake County Superior Court judge has ruled against North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein in a dispute involving $12 million Smithfield Foods has paid to the state since July 2019. The judge determined that the money must be used to support North Carolina's public schools.
