RALEIGH – A group protesting the new federal health care law gathered outside the General Assembly on Wednesday when legislators returned for the short session. Their goal was to pressure lawmakers into allowing a bill protecting North Carolinians’ right to choose health care to reach a vote in both chambers. Democratic leaders who control the legislative process said it’s unlikely the bill will see the light of day.
