Raleigh, N.C. – Two political scientists wrote a study attempting to explain, at least in part, how President Obama won North Carolina.
He is the first Democratic presidential candidate to win North Carolina since Jimmy Carter in 1976.
The two political scientists say unaffiliated voters who recently moved to the state lean Democratic. These voters support put Obama over the top, according to the study.
