Stephen Margolis, professor of economics at N.C. State University, revisits a 20-year-old paper named “The Fable of the Keys,” which disputed the notion that the standard QWERTY keyboard developed as a result of “market failure.” Margolis discusses reaction to his findings from 1990. He offered these comments during a Sept. 27, 2010, speech to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. To watch full-length presentations of John Locke Foundation events, click here.
