Raleigh, N.C. – At the first meeting of an economic development oversight committee members learned of a frustrating loophole in the Dell incentives.
The computer company closed the plant just a few years after opening it despite the record setting incentive package. Despite the closure the computer company can still claim some tax breaks in the incentives as long as it maintains any presence in the state. The presence could be as simple as a mall kiosk.
