Pope Center for Higher Education Policy conducted a panel discussion in connection with the release of a new report, Accommodating College Students with Learning Disabilities: ADD, ADHD, and Dyslexia. Speakers at the March 25, 2010, briefing in Raleigh were: Jane Shaw, Pope Center president; report author Melana Zyla Vickers, editorial writer for USA Today; and Jim Kessler, director of disability services at UNC-Chapel Hill. Sparks fly as NC Senate committee OKs bill to fund waitlist for Opportunity Scholarships
The North Carolina Senate Appropriations Committee moved forward with a bill Wednesday that would fund scholarships for the estimated 54,800 applicants on the waitlist for Opportunity Scholarships.
