Raleigh, N.C. – The Raleigh City Council voted 6-2 Tuesday to limit where people can smoke in city parks.
Smoking will only be allowed in the parking lots of most city parks. Smokers face no added restrictions in Moore and Nash Squares.
The ordinance caps a nearly four effort by the city to limit where people can smoke in its parks. The original proposal was to just completely ban smoking. The council softened that proposal
