• Democratic Attorney General Roy Cooper, who’s running for governor against incumbent Pat McCrory, posts a video opposing the special legislative session dealing with (among other things) Charlotte’s so-called “bathroom ordinance.” Cooper supports the ordinance.

• More candidates have filed for the June 7 primary! Recent hopefuls include:

2nd District: Republican Greg Brannon (yep) and Democrats John P. McNeill and Ron Sanyal.

3rd District: Republican Taylor Griffin and Democrat David Allan Hurst.

6th District: Democrat Pete Glidewell.

10th District: Republican Jeff Gregory.

12th District: Incumbent Democrat Alma Adams, Democrats Rodney Moore and Tricia Cotham, and Republican Leon Threatt.

13th District: Republican Andrew Brock.

• Also, attorney Mike Morgan has filed for the Supreme Court associate justice seat now held by Justice Bob Edmunds that may be contested if courts throw out the state’s retention election law. Edmunds has filed for another term and attorney Sabra Faires filed earlier for the seat.
