$12 M Goes to Low-Income Homes
RALEIGH — Thirty counties in North Carolina will receive a total of $12 million from federal grants for repairs to homes of low-income owners. The money will come from the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Scattered Site Housing awards. The grants are distributed by the N.C. Department of Commerce’s Division of Community Assistance, a press release said. Scattered Site Grants enable local governments to address the most critical housing needs of families. Grants are made on a non-competitive basis with $400,000 available to each county every three years.
