Cooper requests $1 billion for mental health and substance abuse crisis

Gov. Roy Cooper unveiled his plan Wednesday that will put $1 billion into addressing North Carolina’s mental health and substance use crisis. His budget proposal will be released in the coming days and will include the investments detailed in the Mental Health Plan.

Bonds and sales-tax hikes on the ballot in 20+ NC counties

During this November’s midterm elections, five counties will vote on a referendum to raise their county’s sales tax by a quarter of a percent. Many other counties are proposing bond referendums to fund various projects within their counties.
