Democrats, Elias clients challenge settlement of federal NC election dispute

The Democratic National Committee and a group working with Democratic operative Marc Elias’ law firm are challenging the recent deal ending a lawsuit between the US Justice Department and North Carolina’s election board. Both the DNC and Elias’ client filed paperwork in federal court Tuesday. Both groups urge US Chief District Judge Richard Myers to revisit their requests to enter the case as defendants.

DNC, NAACP seek to intervene in Justice Department lawsuit against NC

The Democratic National Committee, North Carolina NAACP, and League of Women Voters of North Carolina all hope to intervene in the US Justice Department’s lawsuit against the state elections board. The suit accuses the elections board of maintaining inaccurate voter rolls in violation of federal law.

NCSBE faces 3rd lawsuit over absentee ballot policy

The Republican National Committee (RNC), the North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP), and a North Carolina voter filed a lawsuit against the North Carolina State Election Board (NCSBE) Tuesday in Wake County Superior Court challenging the NCSBE’s policy they say disregards election integrity laws requiring absentee ballot security envelopes to be sealed in order for the ballot to count.
