Reports of the NC Libertarian Party’s death have been exaggerated
We are not pretending it’s perfect, or that there won’t be other bumps in the road. But things are good, and getting better.
Officials with the North Carolina LPNC say representatives of both parties in power have contacted them since the election and indicated that they would like to work with them in the future.
Ahead of a State Board of Elections meeting on Tuesday afternoon, leaders of six different third parties in North Carolina sent a letter to board members urging them to reverse an “egregiously anti-representative decision” they made to not grant ballot access to three different third parties at the end of June.
The North Carolina Democratic Party has been ordered to pay the North Carolina Green Party’s legal fees due to ‘frivolous’ and ‘unreasonable’ intervention in the third party’s battle for ballot access in 2022.
The Libertarian Party of North Carolina tried to nominate members to the county elections boards, but were told it was against the law. Susan Hogarth, N.C. Libertarian Party chair, said the party is considering all of its options, but a legal challenge is unlikely. “We just don’t have the resources to litigate this,” Hogarth said....
