On Tuesday, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were in Wake County to deliver speeches with Gov. Roy Cooper, a fellow Democrat, on healthcare costs. The visit comes during the week of the 14th anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act under the Obama administration.

North Carolina’s sports betting debut shows promise amidst compliance focus

Sports betting is off to a strong and smooth start in North Carolina. During a meeting Wednesday of the Sports Betting Committee of the North Carolina State Lottery Commission, Sterl Carpenter, deputy executive director of gaming compliance and sports betting, told the committee that all reports from the eight operators that went live on March 11 have been positive.

Senate Dems block Budd’s ‘Laken Riley Act’

Bad for business? NC Chamber bemoans primary winners Morrow, Farley

North Carolina’s economy has been growing by leaps and bounds in recent years, earning it the moniker of “The Best State to do Business” two years in a row (2022 & 2023) by CNBC, among other accolades. Place your bets! Sports betting officially becomes legal in NC

It is official. Sports betting is now legal in North Carolina. Anyone 21 or older holding an account with a licensed operator can use their phone or electronic device to place sports wagers starting at noon. The first wagers will be made on mobile devices, as no operator has been approved for in-person wagering at this time.
