Craft breweries and wineries in North Carolina can sell their products to people who take a tour of their facilities. Senate Bill 24 would allow distilleries to follow suit.

Current state law bans distilleries from making on-site sales. Scott Maitland, proprietor of Top of the Hill Distillery in Chapel Hill, touted the potential economic benefits of changing state law during a presentation Monday to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society.
