N.C. Senate leaders are touting a new plan to lower corporate tax rates, use the so-called “single sales factor” for calculating corporate taxes, create a new targeted incentive for large-scale manufacturers, and tweak existing targeted incentive programs.

Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger, R-Rockingham, led a Wednesday afternoon news conference unveiling the plan, along with a bill from Sen. Rick Gunn, R-Alamance, to inject an immediate $5 million into the existing Job Development Investment Grant incentive program.
