Some have complained that government funding of legal services for the indigent amounts to funneling tax dollars to criminals. That’s one of the arguments the head of North Carolina’s Office of Indigent Defense Services rebutted during a presentation Monday to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society.
